Welcome to learn about the Aura River Foundation's invasive species work!
Biodiversity is a vital part of environmental health and well-being. The Aura River Foundation's invasive species work supports this goal by combating harmful invasive species and strengthening the region's natural ecosystems. Our work is primarily project-funded and carried out in close collaboration with volunteers, businesses, and experts.
What is invasive species work?
The goal of invasive species work is to map and remove harmful species that threaten local nature and its delicate balance. The Aura River Foundation's work focuses especially on controlling Himalayan balsam and yellow fringed waterlily. The spread of these species endangers biodiversity by suppressing native vegetation and negatively altering habitats.
How does invasive species work support biodiversity?
Controlling harmful invasive species is an important step in halting biodiversity loss. By removing invasive species, we create space for native species and strengthen the resilience of natural ecosystems. This work not only protects the animal and plant species of the Aura River region but also maintains vital habitats for future generations.
Biodiversity is a resource for the future – together, we can ensure that the Aura River remains a vibrant and sustainable part of our environment.
Achieving impactful results through collaboration
Invasive species work is community-driven and inspiring. We regularly organize volunteer events where local residents and volunteers can engage in hands-on conservation work. Easily recognizable species, such as Himalayan balsam, are particularly well-suited for removal by volunteers. Through corporate collaboration, we support environmental awareness and encourage companies to assess their own environmental impacts.
Welcome to join us!
The Aura River Foundation's invasive species work offers an opportunity to participate in practical nature conservation and support the preservation of biodiversity. Through collaboration and commitment, we can ensure that the Aura River and its surroundings remain vibrant and beautiful now and in the future.
