Project description:

The Aura River Foundation aims to involve and engage stakeholders and landowners in the measures outlined in the Archipelago Sea Program. The goal is to promote the implementation of these measures and secure funding with the support of partners and the ELY Centre.

Tasks and actions:

  • Contact and consultation: Collaboration with local stakeholders and landowners, negotiations on the implementation of measures.
  • Information and training: Sharing information about agricultural water protection measures, funding opportunities, and partners.
  • Communication and networking: Promoting communication, building cooperation, and fostering networks between different stakeholders.
  • Supporting municipalities: Assisting in the adoption of the nutrient-neutral municipality action model.
  • Water vision work: Planning, coordination, and gathering efforts together with the Southwest Finland ELY Centre.
  • Watershed planning: Developing and implementing a watershed plan in collaboration with partners and the ELY Centre.

 

Reporting:

The project reports on progress regularly to the ELY Centre, the regional cooperation group, and the coordination group of the pilot area.

Partners:
ELY Centre, Valonia, Paimionjoki Association, Municipality of Kemiönsaari, and other local and regional stakeholders.
