Information session on yellow fringed lily and its control in Vanhalinna on 27 April
The Aura River Foundation is organizing an information session on yellow fringed lily and its control on Monday 27 April from 17:00 to 19:00 at Vanhalinna (Vanha Härkätie 111, 21410 Vanhalinna, Lieto).
The event will provide up-to-date information on yellow fringed lily in the Aura River area and present the ongoing Keltalammikki VEX project. Participants will also learn about control methods and have the opportunity to discuss the topic with experts.
What is yellow fringed lily?
Yellow fringed lily is an invasive aquatic plant that spreads in waterways and forms dense floating stands. It can hinder recreational use of water bodies, such as swimming, fishing, and paddling, and displace native aquatic vegetation.
In recent years, yellow fringed lily has spread more widely in the Aura River, and a two-year project has been launched to pilot new methods to prevent its spread.
What will be discussed?
The evening will include:
• introduction to the work of the Aura River Foundation and the Keltalammikki VEX project
• basic information on yellow fringed lily and its impacts
• overview of the situation in the Aura River
• presentation of control methods in cooperation with Watec Consulting Oy
There will also be time for questions and discussion.

The event is open to everyone interested – especially local residents, landowners, and recreational users of the Aura River.
